Welcome to the Legal Technology Association ("LTA")website. The LTA represents professionals working in law firms and corporations as well as companies that provide support and other services to the legal industry. Our members expertise ranges from end users to IS managers to network integrators. We also have professional training and technical support firms as members. Join us for the very next meeting of the Legal Technology Association. Our meetings are held at 11:30 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month at the City Club in downtown Dallas 901 Main Street, 69th Floor. PresidentÕs Message
We have such a great lineup of presentations for 2008-2009, so be sure to plan to attend each month. I would also like to suggest that members take a moment to consider others in their firm that will benefit from each month's presentations and invite them to that meeting. LTA is a great way to add to our knowledge, keep up with changing technology and network with others in the Dallas area legal technology field.

MacPac 10: The Next Generation of Document Editing, Creation, and Automation

Linda Sackett, will demonstrate how a traditional macro and template package has evolved to become much moreÉ

Released last year, MacPac 10 includes user, practice group, and firm-wide content creation as well as document assembly functionality. Utilizing a single interface and feature set, users can create traditional template content such as letters, memos, and pleadings, as well as documents previously reserved for document assembly programs - leases, wills, fill-in forms, clause libraries, or even complex multi-document packages with question and answer storage. The product can be customized and managed completely in-house. MacPac 10 integrates with most contact management, email, and DMS programs, and includes outline paragraph numbering and table of contents, global author preferences, style management tools, and pleadings, proofs/certificates of service, and notaries for 65 U.S. courts in 17 states. MacPac 10 is compatible with Office 2003 and 2007.

Linda Sackett, founder and president of The Sackett Group, Inc., began her career in the legal world by working in the trenches doing secretarial and word processing work in law firms and corporate legal departments. But her first career was actually as an elementary school teacher. The skills she quickly learned in order to succeed in both worlds continue to inspire and drive her and The Sackett Group to produce software that makes creating and editing complex documents easy and easy to learn.
